*Construction Accident Lawyer: How Engineers Can Claim $2M+ Settlements in 2026* Every 10 minutes, a construction worker is injured on a U.S. job site. But here’s what the insurance companies don’t want you to know: *Civil Engineers, Site Engineers, and Project Engineers are the 3rd most likely professionals to suffer fatal injuries* on construction sites, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 2025 report. You walk sites daily. You inspect trenches, climb scaffolds, direct cranes, and review MEP installations. One OSHA violation, one careless subcontractor, or one defective piece of equipment can end your career in seconds. In 2026, the average construction accident settlement for engineers is *$787,000*. But cases involving gross negligence, permanent disability, or wrongful death routinely exceed *$2.4 million*. The largest engineering accident verdict in 2025 was *$12.6 million* for a structural engineer paralyzed by a scaffold collapse in Texas. Yet 70% of injured engineers n...

Geo Technical Investigation Report

1          INTRODUCTION

1.1       GENERAL

M/S Trans Tech has intended to construct the “Gulberg Mall and Residency” at Gulberg Green, Islamabad. The structure approximately comprises of multi stories structure (2B+LG+G+M+5F). M/S Trans Tech has entrusted the services of M/s BK Engineering Private Limited for Geotechnical Investigations/Studies and evaluation thereon.

Soil

In order to evaluate the subsurface conditions at the site, M/s BK Engineering conducted the site investigations and thereafter performed the analysis. For the purpose, two (02) Straight Rotary Machines were mobilized at site with geotechnical team including Senior Geologist Shahid Khawaj, Geologist Rehmat Nasir, experienced Drillers and helpers for executing the work of sub- surface exploration/site investigation with effect from March 10-25, 2019.

The soil samples recovered during field investigations have been tested at Geotechnical Testing Laboratory of BK Engineering Private Limited, CB-83/1, Street No. 2, Shalley Valley, Range Road, Rawalpindi.

This report provides an account of the geotechnical activities carried out at the site, the characteristics of subsurface materials, the details of field and laboratory tests and necessary recommendations for design and construction of foundations of the structure.

1.2       OBJECTIVES OF INVESTIGATIONS

The geotechnical investigations were undertaken to meet the following objectives:

i.          To delineate for the major soil or subsoil types spread on over the site area.

ii.         To evolve parameters for the design of foundations of structure.

iii.       To spell-out the geotechnical considerations for the construction of foundations.

1.3       SCOPE OF WORK

The geotechnical investigation program was tailored to fulfill the above-mentioned objectives. The following scope of field and laboratory work has been implemented for this project:

a.         Drilling of Eleven (11) Boreholes.

b.         Rock Core Recovery and preservation in Core Boxes.

c.         Carrying out Standard Penetration Test (SPT), where possible.

d.         Collection and preservation of disturbed soil samples from the Boreholes.

e.         Laboratory testing of selected soil samples for the evaluation of classification, moisture, density, and strength.

f.          Development of subsoil profiles.

g.         Analyses of field and laboratory data and determination of foundation design parameters including rock/soil parameters, foundation depth, foundation size, allowable bearing pressure and foundation settlement.

h.         Formulation of the geotechnical considerations for the construction of foundations.

i.          Compilation of a Geotechnical Investigation Report on the basis of the above studies and studies.

1.4       DESCRIPTION OF SITE

1.4.1   Location of Project Site

The project site is located at Plot No. 01 & 02, Opposite SAMAMA Gulberg Green, Gulberg Green, Islamabad. The proposed site is located at global coordinates of Lat 33.60015o and Long 73.155125o and elevation of 1,550 ft (473 Meter) above mean sea level. Google Satellite Imaginary for Layout of project site is attached at Fig. A-1 (Appendix-A).

1.4.2   General Lithology of Project Site

Project site was almost leveled with adjacent paved roads during soil investigation at site in the month of March 2019 with maximum elevation difference of 4 ft between boreholes.

1.4.3   Historical Topography

The historical topography in forthcoming figures revealed that, the location of proposed plot was situated on Barren land.
